It is necessary for you to acquire information about the ways in which the surgery will affect your life and your daily routine so that necessary preparations can be made ahead of time. For example, if you have to take medicines for some time after the surgery, you need to make arrangements so that you can have access to them right after the surgery is done. Also, discuss any concerns or fears that you might have with your dentist. If required, you should also discuss options like sedation to make it easier for yourself to get through the surgery.

Arrangements for post treatment care and transportation should be made in advance

In case you are scheduled to go through a major dental procedure, necessary for you to make sure that someone is there to accompany you to the dental clinic. Transportation arrangements should also be made in advance to ensure convenience upon return from the clinic. You need to bear in mind the fact that if you are sedated, it will not be possible for you to drive back home once the surgery is done. If you have children at home or chores to do at home, make sure that you arrange for someone to take care of them till the time that you have fully recovered.

All pre-operative instructions should be carefully followed

In most cases, this will include not being able to eat or drink anything for at least 8 hours before the surgery. In case a local anesthesia has to be performed, you will be allowed to take a light meal 2 hours before the surgery. You should also brush your teeth and floss them before the surgery takes place. Apart from that, you might also be restricted from smoking at least 12 hours before the surgery and 24 hours after the surgery has been performed. This applies even in case you are going for laser hair removal in Abu Dhabi.
